Website
creation is more than creating flashy pages
with lots of bells and whistles ----
Your pages have to sell
a product - a service - an idea
No matter what, the
primary goal is to educate and sell.
This is
always the goal.
We must never lose sight of it.

The procedures that we use are really quite straight forward, and have been
designed for efficiency and thoroughness in serving our clients. It is based on our philosophy that all Internet development and hosting is a
team effort between us and our clients. We never leave our clients "on their own".
We start off with a fairly extensive questionnaire which we ask you to fill out.
This questionnaire is designed to allow us to learn as much about you, your business, your web skills and your tastes as possible.
From the answers you provide, we begin to formulate a plan for you.
Your plan has to take into account not only your overall internet objective, such as educational, sales, service,
information dissemination, or a combination thereof, but it must also take into account the attitudes and habits of your target audience. Included in the plan are all the applicable critical issues, ranging from domain name acquisition, to website development, to the final implementation of your website online.
This plan also becomes the basis for estimating the costs associated with bringing your website to the Internet, hosting costs if you chose to have us host the site, and maintenance costs
if you chose to have us handle that as well.
Once we have a plan in place,
we then begin the phases of the actual web development, which consist of:
1) The web outline (often called a storyboard) is created based on the plan as created in the preliminary steps.
This establishes a long list of parameters including among others:
NOTE:
This is the most critical phase of the process, for it guides all the rest of the process, and actually establishes the
marketing strategy of the website as well as determining the overall efficiency of the website as a marketing tool.
2) The Template (or theme) selection, which establishes the appearance of your site (including colors, fonts, etc.)
3) The actual placement of content including text, creation of graphics and their placement, photo's, forms, implementation of email techniques, installation of required scripts, etc. into the site.
4) The proofing process, which consists of multiple proofreads (by us and by you) for accuracy.
5) Online testing - we never put a site online without first fully testing navigation, links, scripts etc.
Your public image is at issue, and we do not want that compromised in any way.
6) Final installation of the website on the server and turning it on.
Please note that although the above may sound complex, it is really very straight forward.
By following these steps, nothing is overlooked. These same steps work well for a small website such as the one you might visit at
www.countrybouquets.com --- to a jumbo site like
www.alt-med-ed.com - a site with almost 3,000 files.
We believe that the key to a successful site is through the efficient presentation of information, so the bells and whistles are used sparingly and primarily for emphasis.
Slower loading items like photos and flash presentations should be an option to be selected by the visitor.
If the visitor wants to see it, they will wait for it ---- but if it is forced, as a main part of the page, many will leave.
You will receive an initial estimate to start with.
As development of your website proceeds, the estimate may change due to changes
in your desired content. You will always be kept informed of these changes.
The
finished website is the product of many factors, the most important of which are
teamwork and communication.
